AZIENDA AGRICOLA
The Murellis vineyard is located in Corona, near Mariano del
Friuli, planted in medium-texture soils that belong to an ancient
Isonzo formation; these are an excellent examples of red soils
produced by ancient weathering of dolomitic materials carried
down by glaciers over hundreds of thousands of years. The
soil has fair water reserves and drought resistance, but the
conditions for growing refosco are ideal, since it pushes the
ripening process, developing in the grapes fine-grained, supple
tannins.
8-10-day fermentation in 400kg lots in very small, open vats,
frequent punchdowns each day, no temperature control, since
with the small-sized lots temperatures do not exceed 24-26°C.
12-month maturation in used barrels to avoid oak and toast
pickup by the wine, then bottling with no pre-filtration.
